The Recipe For Business Success

Is there a surefire way to make any business successful?

Answer: No.

Is there a recipe to follow that makes sure a business venture has a better chance for success?

Answer: Yes!

Should this recipe always be executed?

Answer: YES!

In all my years working in businesses, consulting businesses, talking to startup founders, venture capitalists, and marketing experts..I’ve FINALLY decided to write down my recipe that any business can follow in order to achieve the best possible business success.

For some of you, this will not be revolutionary. However, it is my own unique approach and hopefully, you’ll like it!

Step 1 – Find out IF there is a demand for your business.

This really applies to businesses that are banking on new ideas, new products and new service concepts.

There are a lot of people out there that think they have something special, something unique, something brilliant.

And maybe they do.

But the important thing is to validate this idea or particular business.

Even for traditional businesses, it’s a great idea to find out the ACTUAL demand for what you plan on offering.

And we can do this! WITH REAL NUMBERS. We can get a pretty good idea of what the demand will be.

Psst…Lean Startup people…you should do this particular step before building an MVP.

The way we do this is by conducting a keyword analysis report.

What I do is I go through thousands upon thousands of keywords related to the business idea, the solutions it offers, the problems it solves, use cases, brand name variations and sometimes competitor names. I want to see how many searches are conducted for these terms every month in the United States and globally.

This analysis will give us a great idea of how much potential business is out there. It will also tell us how competitive it is.

Every business should have a keyword analysis done. It reveals so much and it’s such a powerful piece of information for so many initiatives.

Step 2 – Determine what offer and messaging actually works.

what is your offer

Most marketing strategists start here.

And it’s a great thing to work on.

I still think you should do step 1 first. Step 1 really lets you know if your idea is worth working on. And again, it provides a ton of other valuable insights, so much so, that if you don’t do it, you’re just not being smart.

Anyway back to offer and messaging. Iterating on your offer and messaging is when the magic really starts to happen.

This is when conversions increase, sales increase, customer count increases, etc. You have to find out what resonates with your prospects. So many businesses completely ignore this work. If they would do this work, it would improve the ENTIRE business.

How I differ from most marketing strategists is I use real data to hone the offer and messaging.

It’s one thing to sit in front of a Google Doc for hours rewriting headlines and offers until you think you’ve got it. It’s much more effective to test these with a real audience.

That’s what I do. One of the best ways to do this is to test it using Google Ads.

Pushing real ads in front of an audience that is SEARCHING for what you’re offering will quickly let you know what messaging, headlines and overall offers work and what doesn’t.

Step 3 – Create Marketing Content and an Ad Strategy

Once you have Step 2 finished, you really have the key to your overall marketing plan.

You’ll know what blog content to create, you’ll know what ads will work, and you’ll know how your website home page should communicate. Basically, everything else falls into place. The only way to mess this up is by creating off-topic content or forgetting about all the work you did in Step 2.

If you’re a larger organization, you just need a competent team to execute this step.

I can’t guarantee I’ll bring success to your business, but I can guarantee I’ll reveal the truth about your business and your business landscape.

As a business owner or executive, you need good intel (like a field commander) and perspective to know what you’re up against. That’s what I can provide.

I’ll tell you:

  • What the demand for your product or service is (with real numbers / real data)
  • How competitive your business landscape is (with data)
  • I’ll find how different offers and messaging resonate with your prospects
  • I can even create the written marketing content required after we find your offer / messaging
  • I can run Google Ads to bring in customers, leads, sign ups or for advertising campaigns
