However, the following standards most likely still apply:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>What topics do you accept?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Analytics<\/li>\n<li>Anything that has to do with improving a SaaS (software as a service) business<\/li>\n<li>Anything that has to do with improving an e-commerce business<\/li>\n<li>Email Marketing<\/li>\n<li>SEO<\/li>\n<li>Social Media<\/li>\n<li>Content Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Company Culture<\/li>\n<li>Brand Building<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please understand that I only want posts that are ground-breaking and provide something new or overlooked. Please don&#8217;t re-hash the same content we&#8217;ve all read before.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Can I link to my own website?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, you can, but only in the signature section at the bottom of your guest post. Please don&#8217;t link to your website within the body of your post. It makes your post appear biased and self-serving. Good blog posts teach from an unbiased point of view.<\/p>\n<h2>How long does the post need to be?<\/h2>\n<p>We don&#8217;t have a specific word count. However, longer is better. The reason is that longer posts tend to have more detailed and actionable content. Short posts usually just gloss over a topic and rarely provide value.<\/p>\n<h2>Can I pick a specific date to have my post published?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes. Just remind me to make a note in our editorial calendar.<\/p>\n<h2>What size should I make my images?<\/h2>\n<p>We have just redesigned our blog to be a &#8220;responsive design,&#8221; &#8211; so there is no set image dimension. The best thing to do is send large, clean, clear images. Aim for larger than 650 pixels in width.<\/p>\n<h2>How should I contact you?<\/h2>\n<p>You can contact me through the contact form on the right or give me a holler on Twitter at <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/seanvwork\">@seanvwork<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How do we start? What&#8217;s the process?<\/h2>\n<p>The first thing is to send me a message and shoot me 3 to 5 topics that you think KISSmetrics readers will love. It&#8217;s also a good idea to spend some time reading our blog (<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kissmetrics.com\">blog.kissmetrics.com<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>Then message me with the topics you&#8217;re thinking about writing. I&#8217;ll let you know if they fit and we can go from there.<\/p>\n<p>After we pick a topic, I will most likely have you outline your post. I&#8217;ll send you my outline document to help you structure your outline.<\/p>\n<p>Once I approve your outline, send me a due date so I can put you down in our editorial calendar.<\/p>\n<h2>What about screenshots?<\/h2>\n<p>I love screenshots. They can really help out when you need a visual example. By all means use them!<\/p>\n<h2>What about stock photography?<\/h2>\n<p>I usually hate stock photos. Unless they serve a purpose, please don&#8217;t use them.<\/p>\n<h2>Should I proof my post?<\/h2>\n<p>Please &#8211; for the love of God, read your post out loud to yourself at least once!
