{"id":2987,"date":"2026-05-13T18:41:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T18:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seanvwork.com\/blog\/?p=2987"},"modified":"2026-05-13T18:41:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T18:41:34","slug":"iran-having-nukes-vs-tanking-u-s-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seanvwork.com\/blog\/iran-having-nukes-vs-tanking-u-s-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran Having Nukes vs. Tanking U.S. Economy?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I went to one of my local lunch spots today and asked how&#8217;s business. The guy behind the counter said it&#8217;s been slow for the past two months. He cites everything getting more expensive. This got me thinking about the war in Iran and what Trump is up to.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The messaging from Trump has been clear: &#8220;Iran can&#8217;t have nukes&#8221;. Iran has been choking the straight of Hormuz and even damaging oil and gas facilities in the Middle East. They&#8217;re choking world&#8217;s energy supplies and now everyone around the globe is feeling it.<\/p>\n<h2>Iran having nukes &#8211; is that a problem?<\/h2>\n<p>Iran certainly uses the chant &#8220;Death to America&#8221; &#8211; so without thinking too deeply, it&#8217;s easy to see why Trump or the USA wouldn&#8217;t want Iran to have nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p>But if we think about it deeper, Iran having nuclear weapons probably doesn&#8217;t mean they&#8217;re going to use them on the USA. Here&#8217;s why:<\/p>\n<h3>1. The US has had enemies with nuclear weapons for decades and they&#8217;ve never used them on us<\/h3>\n<p>I&#8217;m pretty sure if you talk to experts at geopolitics, nuclear weapons aren&#8217;t offensive weapons. They are deterrents. Countries that have nuclear weapons usually don&#8217;t get invaded or attacked. It&#8217;s believed that by having nuclear weapons you can keep bullies like the US away from attacking or invading your country. <mark>That&#8217;s most likely why Iran is trying to get nuclear weapons.<\/mark><\/p>\n<h3>2. If Iran used a nuclear weapon on the US, Iran would be obliterated by the US<\/h3>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say Iran, finally got a nuclear weapon and decided to use it on US soil, the US would retaliate and make Iran uninhabitable. This is a terrible strategy for Iran and serves absolutely no purpose for them.<\/p>\n<p>We can see now that Iran is really good at strategy, so they&#8217;re not going to do something impulsive and reckless just to give it to America.<\/p>\n<h3>What if Iran wanted to use a nuke on Israel and that&#8217;s the real reason?<\/h3>\n<p>I considered this scenario as well. Again, for the same reason as above, if Iran used a nuke on Israel, the US would obliterate Iran. Plus, it would kill Palestinians and Lebanese and make their homeland uninhabitable as well. Doesn&#8217;t make sense.<\/p>\n<h2>Am I in favor if Iran having nukes?<\/h2>\n<p>Not really. Simply because the world should be reducing the amount of nuclear weapons across the board and not increasing the inventory.<\/p>\n<p>You know what would really help though? <mark>If the US wasn&#8217;t so aggressive &#8211; to the point where other nations feel the need to defend themselves by having a nuclear weapons program.<\/mark><\/p>\n<h2>So what about the economy? Is all this Iran war worth it?<\/h2>\n<p>It sure doesn&#8217;t seem like it. This definitely seems like a huge blunder by the Trump administration. I guess the silver lining here is that now, more then ever, we should be less dependent on petroleum for energy needs.<\/p>\n<b><i>Share This Content:<\/i><\/b><br><a class=\"synved-social-button
